Frensham School’s Two-court Sports Hall.

Novati Constructions was engaged to undertake the design and construction of a new sports hall for Frensham School in Mittagong.

Set within the School’s Sports Precinct, surrounded by farmland, the new Sports Hall delivers a state-of-the-art sporting facility that meets the School’s educational sporting needs and facilitates its ongoing tradition of hosting weekend Independent Girls’ Schools Association (IGSA) netball and basketball events.

Frensham Sports Hall includes two competition standard size netball / basketball courts with sprung timber flooring, upperlevel spectator galleries, change rooms and amenities, canteen kitchen, reception, storage space, facility offices and an external covered verandah.

Designed to meet FIBA standards, Frensham Sports Hall has all the qualities of a world-class basketball facility. Its standout features include timber flooring, natural ventilation with an automated window system, unique awning design and authentic acoustic baffling lining the walls and ceilings to reduce noise levels.

During the construction phase, the Novati Team navigated significant challenges including higher than-average annual rainfall, gale-force winds, supply chain disruptions, escalating costs, and labour shortages. Notwithstanding these obstacles, Novati successfully completed the Project in time for the inaugural game of the 2024 IGSA Netball competition. This accomplishment was made possible through meticulous program management and a collaborative effort involving all project stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers.
