MADISON APARTMENTS WATERLOO
THE MADISON APARTMENTS WATERLOO IS A LUXURIOUS RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
The Madison Apartments Waterloo is a luxurious residential development consisting of a basement car park, 47 residential apartments and 1 commercial space.
The architectural design featured around a centralised common area courtyard with leafy outlooks from internal balconies. This striking building has a corner aspect with the façade a mixture of rendered & face brick work elements, high glazing and sliding louvre screens.
The construction involved the demolition of an existing commercial building, excavation & construction of the basement car park, and the construction of 6 levels of residential apartments. In addition to this the head contract works included public domain works for the City Of Sydney Council which involved upgrading the footpath and landscaping to the adjacent streets. The new landscaping & greenery added to the external impact of the building.
The construction process was split up into 2 stages. The first stage was demolition & excavation and the second stage was the overall construction of the building. The works involved the use of a tower crane to assist with materials handling and speed up the construction process. There was relocation of overhead electrical and telecommunication infrastructure to underground footpath which involved meticulous construction programming to stage these works with the public domain works whilst not restricting site access for deliveries and materials handling.
The end result was a an impressive building architecturally and an extremely efficient construction program for a project of that nature.
